90

Well 91 actually......that's the number of paper LO's I've completed so far this year with only two more days of 2007 to go! I've also done about 19 digi LO's, lots of cards and some off-the-page projects (including the ten 2008 calendars I've made for gifts this Christmas!). Not as many LO's as 2006 when I completed 106 LO's. Not bad going I guess given I work full-time and I've had a few "down" periods throughout the year!

To share now.....before we say goodbye to 2007 and begin a new count.....here's a LO I completed today for The STamp SHak December competition - doing a tree decorating LO. I've also completed a double LO using Peggy's pics (from Scrap Chat) but can't share those yet.....I'll let Peggy see them first ;)

I've also got ANOTHER calendar to share.....the last one (unless I whip one up for myself!!). I made this one for my GF Megan and her family who are off to live in Jakarta for a few years! I'm going to miss Megs heaps.....but I guess now we have an excuse to visit Indonesia!

We're looking forward to trying out a new local Thai restaurant tomorrow night with my GF and her new DH (Jo & Bob who recently got married). Will be nice to chat to them properly now the wedding is over. The girls are coming too so the conversation will have to be child-friendly!!!

Well we have absolutely NO PLANS for NYE!! How boring!!! I'll end up scrapping and listening out for the local fireworks at midnight!!! One year I'm going to party like I used to (when I was younger!!!) on NYE!

Hope everyone has a great night and stay safe!

See you in 2008!

Merry Christmas

Well Merry Boxing Day actually......

Hope everyone had a fabulous, relaxing and enjoyable Christmas Day! We certainly did! Ham & fried eggs for breaky.....presents opened....snacking on yummy Christmas treats.....playing with new toys and gadgets......off to lunch at the Grand View Hotel, Cleveland (what an excellent idea).....then home for a long nana-nap! New DVD after a cold meat and salad dinner!

I received some lovely gifts including all FOUR Die Hard movies on DVD - yippee!! We've watched 1 and 2 today, DH & the girls are watching 3 now and we'll probably watch 4 tonight!!! It's a DIE HARD feast! I also got my very first lady shaver!!! Never had one before - Mum loves hers - so looking forward to testing it out ;)

Because of my long snooze in the afternoon yesterday I was up late last night and whipped up this LO (using a pic of GF, Jo placing the wedding ring on Bob's hand from the wedding we went to on Sunday).....the LO is for a kit challenge at All Craftz and we had to use the quote (hand written along the side of the photo).

Bride & groom

My three uni girlfriends - including the gorgeous bride Jo!

I can also share Mum's calendar I made for her for Christmas and some other happy snaps!

My calendar making frenzy continues....think I'm up to NINE calendars so far with two more to go :D (warning....lots of pics!!)

Can share a few more now including this one for Megan.....

I also made this one for Lexie (Karen) who kindly hosted a lovely get together for the Scrap Chat girls as Sandy was up from Melbourne for Christmas. We had great day - awesome company - fabulous food!
I didn't take ANY pics :( but there are some posted at Scrap Chat if you want to check them out!
Congrats to Chelle too....who's had her first LO picked up by SM for possible publication! Yay! About time girl....you need to submit way more!

I've also made three calendars for girlfriends I'm catching up with today at the wedding of one of them! Here's two of the three (already shared the other one)......

Busy busy busy

Almost two weeks since my last post....how did that happen??? So much happening at this time of the year I guess + I ended up in bed sick for 2 days amongst that time too (which I could have done without!!).

Present shopping is now all completed - after a few minor hiccups and mad dashes across town to get 'just the right thing' for certain people!

Have I mentioned we are eating Christmas lunch out this year??? I think I have.....that's all booked and paid for and I'm getting really used to the idea of not having to buy food, prepare food, serve food, clean up after etc!!!
Big congrats to Alicia, Michael and Kyan in New York as they welcome the safe arrival of Cameron late last week! Check Alicia's blog for all the details and the pics!

Been making heaps of cards (after a slow start) and calendars for gifts this year. Can share a few but a couple will have to wait.....

Off to a wedding of a long-time friend from uni days on Sunday. Will be lovely to catch up with her and her fire-fighting partner + a few uni friends I haven't seen for 12 months!

I've got one more day of work (Monday) before I finish for 4 weeks holidays!!! Yippee....bring that on!
I'll try and post again before Christmas - but if you're not back this way before then......sending BIG Christmas hugs and wishes for a fine holiday season and the best New Year!

15 Sleeps to go

ON the countdown to Christmas and I've FINALLY started on my cards! Here's the first lot....

I can now share the calendar I made for Cate....who had the highest bid for LSBS recent Think Pink auction for a calendar made by ME! She has safely received it and is all set to use it next year in her scrap area!

Managed to get to 6 of my 12 hour crop on Saturday (after DH double booked a fishing trip on the same day!). Was lovely to spend time with the gorgeous Lisa and her Mum, wonderful Shannon and an hour or so with beautiful Kerryn! Looking forward to the next one (all 12 hours this time!) in January! Managed to do another calendar (won't share this one just yet either) and a couple of LO's......1 for the All Craftz December sketch and the other for the 123 challenge (haven't had time to do one of these in ages).

Today we've been to Wet 'n' Wild for the day.....as a kids party for my work! The girls and DH really enjoyed the day and we are all exhausted tonight! All that fresh air, adrenaline and chlorine!
The girls enjoyed one extreme to the other.....Tara prefering the quieter, more sedate rides....and Danah was an EXTREME ride junkie!!!! Riding as many of the big, fast rides as possible.

Final Day

The 2007 school year is over AND I now only have one child at Primary school!!! Danah is off to senior school (Year 8) next year!!!

I took the day off to go along to their final assembly as the Year 7's received their graduation certificates. Danah also sang solo in the Year 7 song (same one they sang at their Graduation Dinner) and received a plaque for having been involved in choir every year from Year 1!

And so starts almost 8 weeks of school hols! I'm not on leave until Christmas Eve so the girls will be at vacation care and my folks between now and then!

I'm finally making head-way on the Christmas stuff - I've made a couple of calendars (won't share one just yet) + a Kaiser Craft Christmas tree for MIL. Next on the list is CARDS!!! I still haven't started on them yet!!!

December Already!

The girls have four days of school left.....and it's 23 sleeps 'til Christmas!!! Oh my goodness! How did it get to December so quickly!

Haven't had time to put up the decos/tree this weekend...but will HAVE to do it next weekend! Had my work Christmas do on Saturday night.....food was great and nice to catch up with girlfriend Pam & her DH - as she's currently on maternity leave.

This week, I'd like to share some pics from Danah's graduation (from Year 7) dinner on Thursday night! It was a great night - everyone looked gorgeous and Danah even received a "Certificate of Achievement" for her contribution to music - which was a lovely surprise.

I took Danah and her friend, Emmie, to the hairdressers straight after school - as a special treat! Then we had mocktails (for the girls) - cocktails (for the grown ups) at our place with Em's parents and my folks (see pic with a very proud Pop above!) before heading off to school. Here's a few snap shots....I'm sure there will be a LO or two to follow at some stage with other pics!

Danah and her teacher, Mr Malcolm + class mates.....and no, her shoes were not high heels - only about 2-3 cms high!!!

She was very glad to dance with her father, as he at least is tall enough for her to twirl with without having to crouch down - like all the boys in her year level!

Scrappin' wise --- I've completed the digi challenge at the LSBS Cyber Crop that started on Saturday night and goes through until Wednesday night.....here my LO using a "wish list", red and circles.

I also whipped up a quick birthday card for Danah to take to her first 13th birthday party on Saturday night.

I've also finished the teachers gifts! Both girls had male teachers who I always find difficult to buy/make for....but used the Kaiser Craft pen holders this year + a few goodies in each for them.

STILL haven't started my Christmas cards.....I wonder just how long I can delay doing it!!! The 10 card challenge at LSBS might get me motivated + a few card challenges at other sites!

Speaking of sites.....my wonderful scrappin' buddy and friend Megan, is moderating at a new site called All Craftz.....check it out if you get a chance. She's having a ball chatting up a storm there and they are looking for DT members too!

A LO to share....the final one from the Warana weekend - finally finished it!

And lastly....a challenge set at Scrap Chat.....the result - this LO!!!

Sunday night update

Busy weekend here.....here's the brief update:

* Guide gathering Saturday at Coochie Island (Moreton Bay)....lovely few hours and must visit again with the girls on hols

* Voted! Was quite surprised at how interested Danah was in these elections. Maybe because they have been studying government this year and visited Canberra it all has some meaning to her now. She actually hopped out of bed when I got home last night to tell me Mr Rudd was now our PM!

* Scrapapple Christmas Party - enjoyed a few make and takes....some nibbles....a little shopping...and caught up with various scrap friends including Zane (who's off overseas very soon!) Thanks again Shann for the invite to join you!

* Quick catch up with my Uncle up from NSW

* Shopping with Danah - glad rags for Peter to wear on Thursday night at Danah's Graduation Dinner

* Nana-nap (twice this weekend....unheard of!!)

* Christmas photo shoot with the girls.....need them for a couple of Christmas pressies and challenges!

* Poor little Tara has a nasty headache tonight....she seems to be getting them way too often lately....might have to get it checked out!

Pics to share.....for now from our attempt at a Christmas photo shoot!

One of the out-takes.....
