Hardly a Holiday but..

a few days off work is better than nothing! I've got 5 days off with the girls before they head back to school on Monday! Yippee!

Layout share...

First one is Week 4 for the Project Scrap Away competition at Scrap Chat...

The next two LO's are for the Stamp Shak CC held last weekend...

This one was inspired by a magazine ad (on cat food!!!) as part of a monthly challenge at LSBS -

I'm looking forward to attending the Girls Night In fundraiser (for women's cancer) on Saturday at Mt Gravatt (places still available Brisbane scrappers!!!). Will be lovely to catch up with my wonderful scrapping friends and to meet a few more ladies IRL for the first time!

Grab a bag...

and help us raise funds for women's cancer!

In time for Gypsy's Girls Night In crop (next Saturday 4 October - Mt Gravatt Brisbane -please come and join us!!!) I'm donating one of my handmade handbags for AUCTION to finish in time for Girls Night In! Check out the Craft Exchange auction site and BID on my BAG!!! Check out the other charity auctions while you are there!
It doesn't cost anything to bid or sell on this amazing site!

Don't forget the other way to help raise funds for this great cause is to shop at A Passion for Craft! The lovely Lynnie is donating 10% of all sales made up unti l 4th October to Gypsy's GNI fund raising!

It's CC weekend at The Stamp Shak - Chelle has set us a few challenges from suggestions nominated by the forum members! Hoping I get a chance to do all three challenges!

Finally...it is my dear Mum's birthday today!!! Happy birthday Mum! Wishing a fabulous day and can't wait to have delayed celebrations with you when you get home from the UK! Won't post a piccy of her birthday present just yet --- until she's home and has received it ;)

100

I count my LO's! Do you? Do you set an annual target? I always aim to reach at least 100 LO's each year and I usually make that target! Maybe I should set a higher target next year! My "Men" LO I finished last night for the Stamp Shak monthly LO challenge --- is # 100!

Here are some other LO's I've finished during the week and this weekend (my first 'lazy' weekend in ages!).

"Teenager" - for Aussie Road Maps

"Sunday" - for the Scrap Chat monthly Sketch challenge

"Too Cool" - Project Scrap Away Week three challenge

"Melbourne" - LSBS's weekend challenge - P.I.R.A.T.E

"The Ross Children" - LSBS sketch challenge. My MIL gave us this photo which is of DH's great uncle & aunt and Grandmother (Emily on the right). Still to get a date for the photo.

I've also made a few cards - for swaps and challenges...

We've enjoyed a very quiet weekend ... DH & DD's on holidays this week while I slog it out at work :(

Congrats Chelle!

Scrappin' buddy Chelle Jamieson has had a fabulous few weeks. Firstly getting "the call" from SM as a Top 50 scrapper in the Masters competition and now she's opened her own Etsy shop selling her very cute embellishments.

Be sure to check it out. Chelley Bean Designs

Hope it goes really well Chelle.

I'm lucky to say I already have some felt birdies from Chelle that I purchase on the Scrap Chat auction site.

It's been a long long time

since I've done NO SCRAPBOOKING for a WHOLE weekend!!!

No - I'm not sick, just busy!

Danah's birthday on Friday - 13 this year!!! - I cooked a bacon & egg breakfast before heading off to school & work. She's not overly keen on photographs anymore - so this early morning one is one of the couple I managed to snap on her becoming a teenager! We were very disappointed that her new laptop DIDN'T arrive on Friday afternoon as it was supposed to but hopefully she'll have it tomorrow. I had hid a cheesecake shop mud cake at the Guide hut and she was surprised to see it at the end of Guides on Friday night!

Saturday we had a sausage sizzle as another fund raiser for Guides. Amongst that Tara had rehearsals for her drama production and Danah had a orchestra event. While the sausage sizzle wasn't a roaring success - it was a fun day. Saturday night we were back at school for the "Owl and the Pussycat" production - in which Tara was part of the "storm" (see below - she's the tallest one!).

Today I've been shopping in the city with Danah - her wish/request for her birthday - just her & I and one of her friends. Nice day and she enjoyed buying a few clothes for herself. I even managed to make a start on the Christmas shopping.
You'll notice a new "badge" in my sidebar ... to Gypsy's latest addition to Scrap Chat - a social network section! Great fun and just as well she had it for this weekend as she's had terrible trouble with her forum support and it's been down all weekend. So we've missed this weeks Project Scrapaway challenge.
LSBS has had their CC this weekend and they had some great challenges --- shame I had NO time to get to them :(
My family (parents & brother) who are all overseas atm...are all doing well. Glad to hear DB arrived safely in the US of A on 11 September! Mum & Dad rang on Friday to speak to Danah for her birthday.

It's Time... for Girls Night In

It's coming up to October (way too fast) and that means ONE thing....it's GIRLS NIGHT IN time again!!!

Yes, we're cropping to raise funds for womens cancer on October 4 - please support this wonderful crop - either by coming along for a great time OR donating to support the cause!

Check out all the details, pay your registration (& get a tax receipt) - here - http://qld.cancercouncilfundraising.org.au/personalPage.aspx?registrationID=53098

It's sure to be a fabulous event ... and if we raise at least $800 the beautiful Lexie is going to shave her head on the night - with the help of Chelle Jamieson!!!

Exhausted again!!!

Another Sunday night and another exhausted body here!!!

Enjoyed a great few days with work up at the Bunya Mountains this week...got some great wildlife shots - can't wait to scrap them. Did do a digi of the bower bird while I was up there!

Friday night I whipped up my LO for the Project Scrap Away challenge at Scrap Chat - this week we had to sew and have hidden journaling on an important past event. I scrapped my graduation photo (from a million years ago!!).

Saturday eldest DD and I worked at the local Spring Festival for 4 hours (checking wristbands on everyone coming in through the car park entry) before coming home to sew costume pants for the school drama production coming up VERY soon! Five made - five more to go by Tuesday!

We celebrated Fathers Day today with bacon & eggs and then more working at the Spring Festival. It was a bit quieter today (on the afternoon shift) so I managed to take some photos. Eldest DD and I were quite silly and went on the "Alpine Express" ride ... bad idea! I'm not 13 anymore and we asked to hop off before we got to the backwards part of the ride!!!

Youngest DD was quite excited as she'd entered a photograph in the Arts & Craft section of the Spring Festival AND she won first prize (won't mention her photo was the only entry!!) She received a $25 voucher for Mitre 10 (what the!!! - think DH will swap it for her --- give her $25 cash). Won't share the photo just yet ... there'll be a LO coming soon featuring the winning pic!

I had 3 cards (which I haven't scanned yet) and 2 LO's in the Arts & Craft section too - got a Highly Commended for my "Holiday Fun" LO.

Was pleased to talk to my folks in the UK on Saturday afternoon ... have been keeping up with their adventures on Dad's blog ... but still nice to hear them! The globe trotting continues as my brother heads off to the USA on Thursday (September 11!!) for two weeks. Enjoy little brother!
