140

My final post for 2008....as we get ready to 'see in' 2009. Quiet night at home - a few drinks, some DVD's & popcorn and sparklers at midnight!

So I've been doing some LO's - my last for 2008 - and I reached a total of 140 for the year! Pretty pleased with that!

Here's my last few...

The first three images are an OTP (clear mini album) & double LO for Scrap Therapy's Kaiser Challenge...

Thanks to Chelle for letting me "borrow" her model son - Zac!!! Pics from the Scrap Chat Christmas party at Scarborough Beach.

Don't often do LO's 'just for me' - but this one and the 'Parrot' one aren't for any challenges, cc's or comps!

This one is for a challenge at Becky Fleck's Page Maps blog...

And finally - one for Aussie Pub Calls Roadmaps...

Have a fabulous NYE - keep safe and see you in 2009!!!

Hope you had a very Merry Christmas

What a relaxing few days we've had! Christmas 2008 has come and gone - the presents all unwrapped, the ham all devoured and the Christmas cheer almost all drunk! I hope you and your family enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing Christmas too!

Here's a few pics from our Christmas eve and day.

Danah looking serious - Christmas eve @ my folks place for Mango Prawn salad.

The girls scootering (Santa bought a new one for Danah) up our street before breakfast on Christmas morning.

Christmas breakfast - the first slices of ham + fried eggs!

Getting the salads ready for lunch!

My brother joined us for Christmas day too and bought his laptop....so I "acquired" some new music - thanks for sharing lil bro!. I'm currently in love with The Cat Empire - lovin' their funky sounds....you can't tell me you don't want to get up and dance to this one...
The band (and singer Felix) are all very easy on the eye too ....

I've also got a couple of LO's to share...

First one I've done for Scrapbook n Bits....

More Cards & Calendars

The last of the Christmas cards and calendars...

Busy weekend here with DH's & my work Christmas "do" and an annual catch up with a GF and her family (at yummy Kapsali at South Bank).
To top it all off I'm coming down with a bug of some sort ... sore throat, aches and pains & yukky nose :( Not what I need at this time of the year!!!
Three days of work until I get a break - maybe that's what I need!

Welcome ...

Buddy - Mum & Dad's "new" dog! He's a 3 year old staffy-cross who's previous owner had a stroke and had to go into care. Dad's lovin' having a "mate" out the back with him to talk to while he potters around in the shed and yard.

I can now share a few more of my calendar gifts...

And here's the December challenge LO for the Stamp Shak...

Who's ready for Christmas??

Working hard here to get cards and parcels posted + I'm still at work :( Looking forward to finishing on Christmas Eve.

Update on "Trash the Dress" - Sara has some pics of Danah up on her blog - here

Enjoyed a wonderful (busy) weekend with a 15 hour crop on Saturday at SB Princess with Lexie, Shan & Kerryn. Managed to get some Chrissy presents completed (won't share just yet) and almost ALL the challenges for the LSBS CC (haven't managed that in ages).

Plus the digi challenge using Summer Driggs "Giving" kit

Also completed the Stamp Shak monthly challenges ... here's the card challenge - haven't scanned the LO yet!

Sunday the girls and I ventured over the north side to Scarborough for the Scrap Chat Christmas get together! What a fabulous day! Enjoyed catching up with some of the Brissy ladies from SC and meeting some new ladies and their families. The beach at Scarborough is really lovely. The girls had fun with my camera as did Chelle's little man, Zac - who will make a great papparazzi one day!

Snapped a nice one of Ali as well!

Trash the Dress

Started to put this post up last night --- but the net dropped out and I never got back to post it!

The DD's and I enjoyed a fabulous afternoon on Wednesday with Mel and co from Point Shot Play for their mini Trash the Dress session.

Eldest DD (13) has decided she doesn't want her photo taken any more (which is sad for most Mum's but devastating for a scrapbooking Mum !!) BUT luckily she loved her afternoon playing "model" for the trash session. She wore her Year 7 graduation dress as we ventured off to Sandgate jetty and the Bald Hill Cemetery. Everyone looked great all 'frocked up' and then getting down and dirty in the surf and sand!

Can't wait to see the professional photographs - but for now here's some I took + some of youngest DD her came along too!

Was fabulous to see Sara again ... and her three gorgeous children - who have all grown up so much since we last saw them.

Finally a photo of them together...

Towel please....

The goth look - wearing Peter's ol' leather jacket & BLACK lipstick!!!

Masters 2009

Have to send HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Chelle for being selected as a Scrapbooking Memories Master 2009! So well deserved sweetie! She's also made the cover of the Masters mag just released although I'll have to wait until the copies hit the shops in a week or so before I see it IRL.

Congrats to the others on the Masters list (including Celeste - a previous DTer friend at LSBS) and to Kerryn for making the Honourable Mentions! Will be sure to give Kerryn a congratulatory hug at our all day crop on Saturday!

On the countdown to Christmas

My Christmas card and calendar making has been going full steam ahead this weekend!

The girls have finished school and we've also had the Guide and Brownie break-up this weekend + been to the movies (High School Musical 3 + the new Bond movie).

Plus I've had another shocker of a migraine!! What's going on there??!!!

There's been a CC at the Stamp shak - but have only managed two challenges and none from the Scrap Therapy CC :(

Here's some of my stuff from this week - that I can share for now ;)

It Can't be December??!!

December!! What the??!! How did that happen??? It was only July the other day!

I've been busy making calendars and other otp goodies but also did this blind scrap LO for Scrap Therapy...

Can't share some of the calendars just yet ;)

I've also used a Trish Jones calendar file (from Point, Shot, Play) to create a CD desk calendar for DH & my Dad (and me too). Here's the page for November (photo thanks to Kerryn) - I have different photos for each month of the year. Just need to source the printing of the pages now. I've ordered some special CD cases that hold the pages although you can probably use a normal CD case as well.

End of week catch up

I seem to have lost a week or so since Warana! Things have been just too busy.

Peter has been away last week - up with his Mum in Rocky - while she underwent a single mastectomy. She's back in Mt Morgan (hospital) and still waiting on all the test results. We'd love to all be a bit closer to her (in distance) at this time as Peter had to come back here on the weekend but has been in touch daily to keep up to date with her progress. Her spirits are high which is great!

The girls are also busy in the final week or so of the school year! End of year functions, assessment, Speech Night etc is tiring for us all. They finish next Thursday for approximately 2 months!!!!

Some of you may remember me mentioning eldest DD sitting her first AMEB exam for euphonium recently - well she passed!!! With only a C+ but she passed! Music director at school and her teacher have both mentioned this result is not a true indication of her abilities and they aren't worried given it was her first (nerve-racking) AMEB exam experience!

Danah has indicated she'd like to try and get some part-time work during the school holidays(even though she's only 13 apparently the law doesn't restrict by age anymore with jobs). So we're on the look out for something in retail/stock work just for over the holidays.

Peter & I had a "date" on Tuesday night (while the girls stayed with Mum & Dad) - starting with Thai in my favourite restaurant (we ate in like real grown ups!!) before heading off to Boondall to see John Mellencamp in concert (with Sheryl Crow & Shane Nicholson). A nostalgic evening. Couldn't believe JM is 57!!!! Still managed to sing up a storm although I must say I've been ruined by attending the P!nk concert last year....NOTHING will ever bet that experience!!!

Loved all the "old" songs but also enjoyed one of his newer songs...Longest Days...inspired by his 100 year grandma (had me in tears at the concert) - check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEGEELbyIeM&feature=related

I've been busy doing more "thank you" gifts for teachers etc. Tara made these two lovely bright cards for her two drama teachers....along with the notebooks I made for them.

I'd like to say a BIG Happy Birthday (Friday 28th) to the beautiful Chelle ...

It was also my Dad's birthday last Sunday...

I made him a canvas of one of his favourite photos from their recent UK trip...highlighting our connection with the London Metropolitan Police - through Dad's Great Grandfather who was an Inspector of police with them.

Happy birthday too (for last Wednesday) to my lil' bro' --- Andrew!
