Sunday AGAIN!

How does it get to Sunday so quickly!??

I've had another dose of illness Thursday - Saturday BUT at least this time I went to the Doc and got some antibotics! Feeling much better today - thank goodness - just in time for work :(

Did venture out yesterday to the movies with all the family and my Mum + one of youngest DD's friends - to see Mama Mia! Laughed, cried and sung my way through the whole movie - with Mum doing the same beside me!!! Might have to see it again - or get it on DVD when it's released.

Have been scrapping for both the All Craftz for You and Stamp Shak CC's this weekend. Here's my efforts! The first two LO's and card are for All Craftz's and the last two LO's for the Stamp Shak.

Really enjoyed all the challenges this weekend.

Funny story with this LO - the challenge was to do a photo-free LO with a special song as the inspiration. So I thought - our bridal waltz! Then neither of us were 100% sure WHAT our bridal waltz song was....16 years ago!!! Poor DH - when I asked him - wanted to know if he'd get "in trouble" for not remembering - I said "No - cause I can't remember either"!!! Great pair we are! Anyway - we dug out the ol' wedding video and tortured the girls by watching it! My initial thought was correct - we danced to "Lady in Red" by Chris de Burg!

Made me realise we need to transfer our home video collection onto DVD - so I've purchased some software today to do just that! It also transfers cassettes and LP records to mp3 files and for CD's.

Another LO completed this past week was for Sandy at Scrap Chat - for a photo swap. This is the LO I did for her of her DD back in 1999. Hope you like it Sandy!

2008 Art Auction

Community Supporting Police (CSP) Inc. is a registered charity formed by members, their families and the community in the early 1990’s to assist all members of the Queensland Police Service (QPS) family through the provision of emergency accommodation and support in times of crisis and trauma.

With the support of the QPS Women’s Network, CSP Inc. is conducting a series of on-line art auctions with a gala auction night to be held on 31 July, 2008.

These auctions have been underway for a number of weeks and Auction 3 is currently underway!

Check out all the details here...http://www.police.qld.gov.au/News+and+Alerts/campaigns/artAuction/2008ArtAuction/

Anyone can bid - once you register! I've got my eye on two pieces (& top bid ATM) in the current auction!

Be sure to check out Auction 4 which starts next Wednesday as I have a couple of paper craft pieces up for auction (crafted with love and the help of Shannon, Lisa, Kerryn, Helen & Lisa!)

It's all for a great cause!

Bag Share!

My latest bag creation - made using a Melly & Me pattern from A Passion for Craft - this one is 'Sherbet'. I've made this for my GF (Cath) ... for her birthday! Hope she likes it!

I've loved being able to spread out my sewing stuff...without having to pack up - who needs a breakfast bar anyway!

The finished product...

Added my own touch of a button on the front!

My family are having a lovely time with the MIL...and I'm surviving --- getting used to the peace and quiet! Unfortunately I've been ill today - with a migraine...but back to work tomorrow and human company!

All ALONE

My family has left me....

to visit my DH's Mum up near Rocky for a whole week! So I'm Home Alone!

I've been away from them heaps with work...but I never been HOME alone for longer than a weekend EVER! I was looking forward to the time alone but as the time for them to leave drew nearer...I started to get apprehensive - nervous even! They left at 3am this morning and I'm missing them already!!

One positive - lots of time to scrap and sew!! Before I start --- a few goodies to share.

Nice Surprise

Yes, I know I've been a slack blogger! But I have been busy - honest!

Last weekend I got to spend Saturday in Melbourne (I'd flown down on Friday arvo for a work "do") so made the most of it by finding an awesome fabric shop and spending up on handbag material! Also had lunch with Ness - which was lovely AND managed to find this nifty haberdashiery shop....lace YUM!

It was Ness who told me my "Stocktake" LO was in the current edition of Scrapbooking Memories!! What a nice surprise! Full page too - which I'm pretty chuffed about! While it has the "newbie" sticker on it...I was actually a "newbie" two issues ago...but not to worry!

Sunday was my birthday and it was a lovely day - relaxing morning and then "Get Smart" and Hogs Breath in the PM. Family, film and food....pretty good in my books!

Been busy this week organising fundraising 'stuff' for the local Guides. Have a great raffle associated with our upcoming crop if anyone (unable to attend) would like a ticket...let me know! Kaisercraft have come to the party by donating a great product pack as our main raffle prize! Plus there'll be other awesome scrap goodies as 2nd, 3rd...etc prizes!

My OTHER big fundraiser at the moment is for cancer research through the Prince of Wales hospital and their DRY JULY campaign. Yes, I'm giving up alcohol for the whole month of JULY!! If you'd like to sponsor me (or see how I'm going) check it out - here http://www.dryjuly.org/djlist.aspx?s=amanda+Moran OR take up the challenge yourself (if it's not too late!!)

Haven't been doing much scrappin' unfortunately although did manage a couple of goodies for the Stamp Shak CC last weekend (the LO & first card) and then another card for a friend from work heading off on maternity leave this week.
