Late Sunday night...

and I'm only just getting to my blog!

What a crazy weekend!

Started Friday night with Tara singing at school and Danah attending Guides (spilt myself in two and managed to get to both!)

Saturday we had a special birthday celebration for Ethan...my girlfriend from work (Pam) little boy turned ONE!

We managed to attend the party for a couple of hours before rushing off to attend another celebration...the 50th birthday of the Redlands Sport Club Pipe Band!!! They had a birthday afternoon tea for the senior citz of the Redlands and the Guides helped out by serving the afternoon tea! The girls that attended did an amazing job and everyone commented what a great job they did and how nice they were (proud Mumma here as both my two were involved!).

While at the afternoon tea we missed a phone call from my folks who are now staying up at Suffolk (in the UK) in their cottage. Sounds like they are doing okay - except for the driving apparently!

Today I've been frantically getting ready to go away this week, check in on my folks place (water plants etc), and a bit of shopping too!

I'm going to be OFFLINE for a whole FOUR days!!! OMGosh I hope I survive! Taking the laptop but doubt I'll get service to log on + my mobile will be without service too!!! I'm off to the beautiful Bunya Mountains for work...taking the camera - so should have some nice pics to share next week!

Quick scrapbook share before I sign off...firstly the monthly sketch challenge at Stamp Shak

And my first LO for the Scrap Chat Project Scrap Away - monochromatic (can you tell??)

I have done a couple of other LO's this weekend but won't share just yet as they are off to the Redlands Spring Festival (local show) since I talked them into including 'scrapbooking' as a section in the arts and crafts thought I'd better enter!!!

No...it can't be???!!!

Two posts in one day!!! What the??!!

But I had to let you know about this...

Lynnie at A Passion for Craft is supporting the Girls Night In fund raiser I mentioned in my last post by donating 10% of ALL sales between now (23 August) and 4 October to the fund raising total!!!! She's also offering to bring your order along to the GNI crop to save on postage if you are going along on the night.

So if you can't get to the crop you can still support the fund raising and get yourself a few treats as well! Sounds like a win-win situation to me!

Who Loves Handbags?

I've put one of my homemade fully lined handbags up for sale at Scrap Chat Craft Auctions...if you'd like a Scrapmanda original (lol)...check it out here - http://www.scrapchat.net.au/auction/item.php?id=194

As the auction site mentions...it's a fabric bag (fully lined) - made to your colour preferences - using Melly & Me "Sherbet" pattern. Completed size - height approximately 48cm (19") including handles. PLEASE NOTE: Allow three weeks after auction closes for handbag to be made (to your colour preferences) and posted to you. YOU choose three colour preferences once auction is finalised and I'll whip up the bag in your favourite colours!

I'm also in the process of making one of these bags (black & pink predominately) for the upcoming Girls Night In (womens cancer fund raiser) event - Gypsy has a range of charity auctions happening to raise money for this...be sure to check them out too! The bag will hopefully be up for auction early next week.

While I'm talking charity auctions - we still have the Cleveland Girl Guides scrapbook kit auction running for about another week. A great pack of goodies and raising funds for a great group of girls!

Finally - if you like a scrap challenge - be sure to check out and sign up for Scrap Chat's Project Scrap Away - which commences THIS FRIDAY! Some great prizes from Point Shoot Play up for grabs!

What a Weekend!

I'm exhausted BUT the bank balance for the Cleveland Girl Guides is approximately $400 healthier after our Scrapbook for Guides fundraiser yesterday!! So while I might be exhausted I'm one very happy Support Group President!!!

A HUGE thank you to all our sponsors - Paper Occasions - Cleveland, One Stop Scrapping - Birkdale, Kaisercraft, Express Publications, Scrap n Craft with T, The Stamp Shak, various online scrapping friends (Alz, Narelle & anon), Pattons Meats - Victoria Point, Brumbys Bakery - Alexandra Hills and Woolies - Cleveland!

A even BIGGER thank you to all the lovely scrappers who came along yesterday between 1pm and 9pm and got into the spirit of things with raffles, lucky door prizes, discount vouchers, drinks, chocolates and a sausage sizzle (thanks Peter & Shaun)! I hope you all enjoyed the event as much as I did!
Apologizes to Nadine, Joan & her friend (Karen??) who missed out on being snapped + of course the snag cookers!!

I did manage to do ONE LO but haven't scanned it yet.

Tonight we shared dinner with my folks who are about to jet off overseas again...this time to the UK via Hong Kong and home via Singapore. Hope they have the best time and Dad has lots of success with his geneology research. Keep safe! We'll miss you heaps (and not just cos of your taxi skills Pop!!!)

More Sewing

I've finished another "sherbet" bag for my GF in Mt Isa...went for more relaxed colours for this one!

Also made a 'Pyramid' purse with the left overs from Cath's birthday sherbet bag...of a few weeks ago. I'm calling it my "tampon" purse - as it's just the right size for a few tampons and pads to be kept safely in!!! The pyramid purse pattern is from Nicole Mallalieu and I"m quite pleased with how it turned out (considering I had to put a zip in!!!). I'm putting this into the prize pool for the Scrapbook for Guides crop this coming weekend.

I've also tried a tote bag this week---made specially to fit 12 x 12 scrap stuff in---for crops etc. Loved this fabric and have some more for other tote patterns to try soon too! Used Nicole Mallalieu's hint for covering my plastic base in this one too! Learning all sorts of new skills!!!

Scrapchat Craft Exchange...

Want to join a site that lets you buy and sell your papercraft items for free?

Scrapchat Craft Exchange auction site has been developed by Gypsyangel (Scrap Chat) specifically for scrapbookers, cardmakers and other crafts. The auction site doesn't have any fees to buy or to sell products. You are able to sell, swap or exchange all of your excess stash.

I've put up a couple of items and am looking forward to doing some bidding once a few more items are up!

Anyway, be sure to check it out - never know what bargins you might pick up. Also, it's a real advantage not having to pay for advertising especially when you may only have small amounts of something for sale!

A Red at Last!

It's August & I can drink again! Dry July is OVER!! So I've enjoyed TWO glasses of Margaret River 2004 Cab Merlot tonight (had to wait until 3 August - cos I was sick (again!!) on Friday night and driving last night!!!). I raised about $100 - thanks to all those who sponsored me!

Not much scrappin' this weekend...sewing instead. Finished another handbag *Sherbet* for my GF's daughter's 18th birthday this coming weekend - hope she likes it.

Did do the Scrap Chat Powerscrap today....great challenge Heids....don't really like 6 x 12 so that made it even more of a challenge.

Finished this one a week or so ago...for the Scrap Chat Gratitude Journal monthly challenge - still need to do July's challenge before I start on August!!!

My GF is a grandmother....her 19 year old son, Brendan, has had a daughter this weekend with his partner, Amanda. Congrats all on the safe arrival of Alyssa! Busy doing a little something for Sandy to help her show off her beautiful granddaughter.

Just waiting for work colleague Holly to have her bub now!!! Come on baby Jamieson ... it's time to come out and play!
