My last week of Hols...

Well it's nearly time to go back to school and work. Not looking forward to the tantrums ahead. I really don't want to go!!! The girls on the other hand are excited and keen to head back to school!

We had an early "Australia Day" today (instead of Monday) as we wanted to go to the coast and didn't think it would be nice on the roads come Monday afternoon. Had a lovely few hours at Kingscliffe (northern NSW) - swimming in the surf then fish 'n' chips with damper for lunch.

This past week the girls and I have had a few odd jobs to do including some serious cleaning and last minute get-ready-for-school jobs BUT I've still managed to do some scrappin'.

My first digi for the year - a quick page - of my Dad's long lost Great Aunty Maude.

A card challenge for the first A Passion for Craft CC. And two layout challenges...

My weekly "inchie" for Stamp Shak - theme this week was "fabric".
The "one little word" challenge at Scrap Chat this week was "reflection" - so I used a quote for my title and had some fun with these old (1992) pics of DH & I!

My 52 Pick Up challenge LO from Little Scrapbook Shop - this week we had to use paper tearing/rolling

My "Daughters" LO is for the Scrap Therapy monthly sketch challenge (using photo's taken by the lovely & talented Kerryn Leworthy) Speaking of Scrap Therapy - chuffed to see my "My Bundy Bear" LO for the Kaiser comp has made it onto their blog!

Finally - some more "old" photos (late 90's) and one cheekly little DD... for the Stamp Shak monthly challenge.

Well that will be the end of my serious scrapbooking time --- as I psych myself up to return to full time work + school + Guides etc.
Counting down to our next holidays in 9 weeks time - when we have a week at Kirra Beach!

Congratulations

A big congrats to Sara & John Pearcy and Christopher, Mia & Nicholas as they welcome baby James into their family! I look forward to seeing some gorgeous photo's of your new little man!

Scrappin' Frenzy

Well I've had a fabulous scrapping weekend and I wasn't even away at a retreat!

Did heaps of challenges at a few CC's plus other regular challenges! So beware --- this is a LO over-load post!

First off ... my 5th and final LO for the Scrap Therapy Kaisercraft Challenges...had a great time doing this "boy" LO for my bundy bear - who is rarely keen to be photographed but on Christmas day was more than happy to show off his stash!

I managed to complete four challenges for Little Scrapbook's CC including the card challenge (and yes, I've made my first Christmas card for the year!!!!). I used a few older photographs for a couple of these challenges. The gorgeous miss in "Little Miss Attitude" is Chelle's angel - Ella. I'd also like to mention (and thank again) Alz for the stunning Prima flower RAK that matched that LO perfectly!

Scrapbooking Memories also had a CC on this weekend (never participated in one of their CC's before & quite happy to report I've already won the lucky door prize!!!) Managed 3 LO's for them. Once again dug out some older photos to scrap ("Townsville '03").

I also did the weekly "One Little Word" challenge at Scrap Chat. This week the word was "Life" and I used a line out of Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars" for the title of my LO.

A Passion for Craft also has a challenge up atm...the year in review...here's my LO for that challenge. APC also has their FIRST CC starting this WEDNESDAY (21st) --- so be sure to check it out.

And here's this weeks Stamp Shak Inchie...the theme being "Pink" (really!!!) How huge does my "little" inchie look!!!

Told you I had a big scrappin' weekend! Well done if you've lasted to the end of this post!

I'm really getting into this weekly photo thing --- so I've set up a separate blog to upload my weekly photos onto.

Once I"m back at work I'll put the photos up every Sunday but for now I'm enjoying doing it whenever I feel like it ;)

Check it out, bookmark it/subscribe and leave me some love :D

I'm using a Deb Fisher template I got over at Pickleberrypop for all my weekly photos.

Love Holidays!

I scrap so much while I'm on holidays...LOVE IT!

Layout share...

Stamp Shak Inchies...changed my mind and have gone back to the traditional 1 inch x 1 inch for this weekly challenge. Re-did my "Litte Red" for the fairytale week. Week 2 was "beach".

The One Little Word weekend challenge at Scrap Chat was "words" --- here's my LO of a very cute little man (he belongs to a girlfriend from work)

Alz over at Scrap Chat set a colour challenge - blue & green....colours aren't quite right in this scan :(

The monthly "SHE" challenge at Scrap Chat...LO's are based on a quote each month - I've used the quote in the title!

My KaiserCraft LO for the competition at Scrap Therapy (not really happy with this one ... but not to worry)

Monthly challenge at Scrapbook 'n' Bits...

My first LO for the Pick UP 52 challenge competition at Little Scrapbook Shop...

Finally - my LO from the Scrap Therapy Blind scrap challenge...had fun with this one!

We've had a fun weekend with two trips to the coast! Saturday we went to Ocean Shores to catch up with an old uni friend and her family holidaying from Sydney. Great day - very relaxing - lots of chatting and some sun, surf & sand too!
Today eldest DD & I went down to the Gold Coast to catch up with some Scrap Chat buddies! Another great day!
Lucky I'm on holidays - so I can relax tomorrow!

52 Photo's

As I mentioned in my previous post...I'm doing a 52 week photo challenge - to take a weekly photo and journal it! Very basic "LO's" ... more about capturing the everyday.

I purchased a black visual arts diary ... and have started my journey

I endured my 3 days back at work this week and am back on holidays again until the girls go back to school! Yippee!

2009 - 1st post

Well it's taken me 4 days into 2009 to finally post on my blog! Hope you all enjoyed a safe and happy New Year! We did much as we'd planned and watched DVD's until midnight (DH didn't last the distance after working all day) when the girls and I torched some sparklers. It was relatively quiet in our neighbourhood - people must have been partying elsewhere!

I've been scrapping heaps - making the most of my holidays - and have been visiting a few different scrap sites - in addition to my 'regular' spots!

At Scrap Therapy - Mandysea is doing a 365 blog challenge - taking a photograph everyday and then scrapping it. Don't think I can match that but will try to put a weekly photograph up. So here's Week 1's photo...fresh from our garden. After all the rain we've had plants are "blooming" everywhere!

I've also completed a couple of LO's for the Scrap Therapy CC this weekend...

Gypsyangel at Scrap Chat has commenced a couple of new challenges for 2009 too! Each weekend we'll get "One Little Word" to scrap over the weekend. This weekend it was "Angel". I used a blury photo from the recent Point Shoot Play Trash the Dress photo shoot - at the Bald Hills Cemetry. I thought the girls in their white/cream gowns looked like angels!

I've also had a go at TWO blind challenges through Scrapbook Creations. Accidently did the wrong "recipe" for this challenge (Almost 30 years) - emailed it off to SC before realising (thanks Sue) that I'd used the "example" blind scrap challenge instead of the 'real' challenge. So now I'll have to email (Life is a Blur) to them and explain what a duffer I am!!!

Also did a Blind Scrap Challenge at Scrap Therapy but can't share it just yet...

Chelle at the Stamp Shak is setting us a weekly challenge to complete an "inchie". This week's word is "Fairy Tale" and here's my (almost) inchie. I'm using mini playing cards as my base for this one so not technically an inchie but it is tiny (3.5 x 5 cm)!!!

Little Scrapbook Shop has announced their 2009 competition this weekend too - 52 Pick Up. I've signed up for it as well - hopefully I'll be able to keep up the pace!

I'm loving doing all these challenges atm...not sure how I'll go once I'm back at work!
