Sunday night update

Busy weekend here.....here's the brief update:

* Guide gathering Saturday at Coochie Island (Moreton Bay)....lovely few hours and must visit again with the girls on hols

* Voted! Was quite surprised at how interested Danah was in these elections. Maybe because they have been studying government this year and visited Canberra it all has some meaning to her now. She actually hopped out of bed when I got home last night to tell me Mr Rudd was now our PM!

* Scrapapple Christmas Party - enjoyed a few make and takes....some nibbles....a little shopping...and caught up with various scrap friends including Zane (who's off overseas very soon!) Thanks again Shann for the invite to join you!

* Quick catch up with my Uncle up from NSW

* Shopping with Danah - glad rags for Peter to wear on Thursday night at Danah's Graduation Dinner

* Nana-nap (twice this weekend....unheard of!!)

* Christmas photo shoot with the girls.....need them for a couple of Christmas pressies and challenges!

* Poor little Tara has a nasty headache tonight....she seems to be getting them way too often lately....might have to get it checked out!

Pics to share.....for now from our attempt at a Christmas photo shoot!

One of the out-takes.....

Friday Update

Gotta love Fridays!!! Shame I have to go to work :(

Received a lovely mid-week invitation to join Shann at the Scrapapple Christmas Party Saturday night....how excitment! Haven't been before but really looking forward to it! Who else is going??? Thanks for the invite Shann!

News this week too about my job application - I missed out ..... came second! A little disappointed but not deverstated! At least I've been through the process now (again after 14 years without a proper interview).....so won't be so hesitant to do it again when another job I'm interested in turns up!

We have a Guide gathering tomorrow with a picnic at Coochie Island + I'm hoping to get take some "Christmas" shots of the girls (white tshirts, in the park, with lots of tinsel - unoriginal I know).....hope you have a great weekend!

Received a CD bursting with pics from last weekends gathering at Warana....so will share more (maybe???) later in the weekend!

HAPPY Birthday to my dear ol' Dad.....he's away fishing with my brother (happy birthday for you too Bro on Monday!!)....so I'm sure he's having a great time!

What a Wonderful Weekend!

Well the Warana weekend retreat is over and what an amazing time we had!

The house was fantastic....so much so that Gypsy has already booked the next get-together in March there already!!! It was the best equipped holiday house I've ever stayed in! Everything you could want including an awesome location!

I've also booked the family in for Christmas......in THREE YEARS TIME!!! That was the first available Christmas!!! So you'll know where to find us Christmas/New Year 2010!!!

Back to the retreat.....lovely to catch up again with Mt Tamborine retreaters.....Gypsy, Lynnie, Heidi, Sarah, Chelle, Karen and Robyn PLUS the gorgeous 'newbies'....Delmai, Lucy, Kim, Annie, Carol and Peggy!

We scrapped heaps, shopped, swam, went to the beach, talked, ate, drank!!!, some of us slept (a little bit), sang + laughed and laughed and laughed!!!

Some pics (although waiting on the CD version with lots more pics as I didn't take that many good shots!)

Getting that elusive beach shot.......and yes, Lynnie, your's IS the biggest!! LOL!!!

Chelle....wonder where Ella gets that head tilt from??? LOL!!!

Sarah (Frangipani) and Robyn (Binrow) cooling down Sunday morning in the beach house pool!

There are more pics from the weekend on the thread at Scrap Chat...check them out!

I did more scrapping than at the LSBS retreat but not as much as at Tamborine! Still....enjoyed my scrapping more than I have in a while. Here's one of the LO's I did (big pic on 8.5 x 11) - based on the Inspiration challenge I set the ladies for the weekend.....to scrap about themselves based on a book I took along about "What every woman should have/know...." Used another of my self portrait shots.

I need to put a few final touches on the other LO I did (using the LO sketch challenge) before sharing. We also did a playing card swap, puzzle piece, tile and other little swap over the weekend.

That's all I have the energy to share tonight......managed about 9 hours sleep over the weekend (which was more than some people got!!).....so I'm off to bed!

Over a month

It's been over a month since I last created a "real" layout!!!! What a drought! I've done a couple of digi LO's but I've just been too busy and not "in the mood" for so long!!!

Luckily the drought has broken - it's been CC weekend at LSBS and for the first time in 14 months....I've participated as a 'regular' member (instead of as a DT member!). Managed to get two LO's completed, the digi LO challenge and the card challenge.

I also did another digi LO - a week or so ago....for a challenge at LSBS.

My short trip to NZ went well although the weather wasn't great. Didn't really get much of a chance to look around Auckland and didn't get time to go to any LSS :( One day will have to go back with the family and more time!

Much excitement this week here as we head off to school Speech Night on Wednesday. As Danah is finishing junior school and moving up to senior school (Year 8) they make a bit of a fuss about it at Speech Night.

I'm also getting ready for another scrap weekend this coming weekend. The fabulous ladies from SM Online forum - who survived a weekend at Mt Tamborine earlier in the year - are coming together again up at the Sunshine Coast. We have a few new ladies coming along this time - so should be a blast!

I FINALLY finished my acrylic mini album on our Mt Tamborine weekend!! Here's a few snapshots of it!

Remember me?

I know - it's been over 2 weeks since I've blogged! Naughty blogger! My only excuse is I've been flat out....no rest for the wicked ;) No scrapping to share sorry, but thought I'd better update!

Lots has been happening at work with our big international conference on the Gold Coast - a week at the casino - executive style - hard to handle but all worth it. The conference was a huge success! Here's one of my work colleagues & I relaxing at the conference dinner!

After 14 years in the one job I've also recently applied for and been interviewed for a different job within the same department! Big move for me and will have to wait and see how I go. Pleased with my efforts so far and even if I don't get this one at least I've taken that step and tried my luck.

Still enjoying some of the perks of my jobs - with a trip to New Zealand....TOdAY!!! Flying off to Auckland in a few hours to attend another conference at which I'm presenting! I've been so busy in the lead up to this trip I haven't really had a chance to get excited but I'm really looking forward to my first trip to NZ and hope to find some down time to have a little look around what is supposed to be a very beautiful city (although much cooler still there ATM and raining!)

Speaking of jobs, I RETIRED from my Design Team position at Little Scrapbook Shop as of 31 October too! After 14 wonderful months I decided it was time to give someone else a go. Maybe now the 'pressure' is off my MOJO will return!!! Haven't scrapped in sooooo long I think I've forgotten how!!

Been busy with the girls too ATM. Eldest DD is getting ready to graduate from primary school and move into Year 8 (at the same school) next year. We enjoyed a fun shopping day recently in preparation for her graduation dinner with friend Emmie and her lovely Mum, Julie! Julie and I enjoyed helping the girls find a (suitable) dress, jewellery, shoes etc for their mini formal (although I refuse to call it a formal!!!). We've even bought DH some new 'glad rags' for the big night! Danah's ended up with an electric blue party dress which she loves!

Will update more regularly again now....maybe even from Auckland!
