Congratulations on 45 Years

My dear Mum & Dad have been married 45 years today! Congratulations! We spent a lovely afternoon at Ormiston House, listening to the school bands/choirs performing and enjoying a devonshire tea/coffee. I was at a loss to know what to get Mum & Dad as 45th wedding is Saphire...which I couldn't really afford so we got them 45 $1 scratchies! Hopefully they'll win a few more $$$ from those!

We also visited Pam this weekend as it's her birthday tomorrow ... made her a wall hanging that I picked up at Spotlight - it was plain white but added a few touches to it. It was lovely to see Pam, Ethan and Mark for an hour. Hope you have a lovely day tomorrow Pam.

Pam's card...

Little Scrapbook Shop has had their monthly Cyber Crop this weekend and I managed to do the two sketch challenges - card & LO, plus another LO challenge to use black and one other main colour + the digital challenge.

Had great fun with the sketch LO (below)...using pics of the sweet Lisa and Shannon who I scrap with at SB Princess on a monthly (almost) basis!

Did this LO (the Carnival is over) for the 123 challenge this month ... but not overly happy with it so won't be submitting it. One of the requirements was doodling and my effort (with doodled stars - very hard to see and lines etc) is very average. Happy with the pics though!

Final LO to share tonight is a special one for my Mum....from her recent 50th nursing reunion in Sydney. Mum & Di were both born on the same day in the same hospital but didn't meet until they both started nurse training at Royal North Shore hospital as young women. Turned out that Di's Dad also married Mum's parents AND baptised Mum when she was born! Amazing. I've used some goodies from a kit I purchased from Teina at Just Enough to complete this LO.

Funky Tapes

A few people have asked me about the pink skull tape I used on one of my weekend cards!

Well - it's Smiggle tape - probably not acid free - but cool for cards.

Check some of them out here http://www.flickr.com/photos/drewzel/1753159314/

Bigger IS better!

After the disappointment of having eldest DD's music tour to China & NZ cancelled, DH & I decided we'd cheer EVERYONE up by lashing out and getting a new BIG TV. We're now all in love with our 42" LCD tele! Bigger is most definately BETTER!!!

We're enjoying a long weekend here in Qld and I had an extra long weekend by having Friday off as well. Went along to SB Princess for a 12 hour crop with the fabulous Shan, Kerryn and guests from afar...Lisa Pate and Helen Jolly. Had a great day - lots of laughs, snacks ... oh and some scrapping.

The girls helped me out with a "project" for work. The Qld Police Service have a bi-annual art auction fund raiser (see details here) and I've offerred a piece of work up for auction. I'm almost finished framed two 12 piece "inchies" matted on 12 x 12 bazzill to add to the auction. Will be sure to post a link to them once they are up and ready to bid on ;)

Also managed to get a few LO's and a couple of cards completed too! The first two are monthly challenges at the Stamp Shak.

I've also completed a monthly sketch challenge at LSBS...a rare ok shot of DH!

All Craftz had a huge day on Saturday and I managed to get two of their challenges completed in time (think my card has won a prize for me too!!)

Finally had a card to make for the boss at work who's off on extended leave (and yes, it's Scenic Route!!)...

Yesterday eldest DD & I went into the convention centre for the SB & Papercraft Expo! Had a lovely 4 hours or so checking out the stalls/displays (and buying a few goodies) + meeting up with the lovely Chelle, Gyps, Carol, Helen, Lisa, Shan and Kerryn. Also got to meet Louise (Fess) and chat briefly to Kayla and Alice. Had a 2 second chat to Sara Pearcy while she was teaching a class but missed her during her break - sorry Sara!

Catching up with everyone is almost better than the shopping!!! Danah was excellent and she almost admitted to enjoying it! Think she liked sitting in on the "grown up" conversations more than anything! She didn't complain once - which was lovely - the ice cream might have helped there!!

Shame we can't have a four day weekend EVERY weekend!!!

New Zealand no more :(

We are all sad and disappointed here tonight! Eldest DD music tour (initially to China) and more recently to New Zealand has been cancelled altogether now :( She's very disappointed but I guess at least she'll get other opportunities. The poor Year 12 students have been working towards this for a few years and this was their last chance!

Meet Mango

Mango has come to live with us! Thanks to Teina - Mango was a prize from A Passion for Craft posting competition! The girls love him and I had to fight to keep him in the scrap area!!! Welcome Mango!

We had a wet, cool and lazy weekend - so much so that I neglected to do my usual Sunday night post! So I'm a day late ... with posting this and that's all!!!

Only a couple of LO's to share this weekend - firstly a powerscrap challenge I got to set at Scrap Chat....using a sketch of my own + fabric, felt and/or fibre!

And the monthly digital challenge at Scrap Chat....featuring the very cute Ethan!

Took Mum (and the rest of the family) to see "Indiana JOnes" new movie yesterday - almost as good as the earlier movies and I guess they've left the way open for future Indi movies....

Got the bug for bag sewing....won a scrap competition at A Passion for Craft and plan to buy another pattern with my prize!

Don't forget to check out the LSBS CC Friday week....
