December is always impossible

Can't believe it's 20th December and I haven't blogged for almost a month!!! How did that happen??

Have managed to do some scrapping...including TWO scrap days - one with my work friends who are just finding the joy of creating and another with scrap buddies at Scrap Flourish.

My Dad has taken over from my Grandma (his Mum) in making the Christmas pudding each year. We have a copy of her handwritten recipe (scanned and included below) and Dad has been testing the recipe out over the past few weeks. He is already passing the plum pud skills onto my youngest DD - she spent the afternoon with Pop today making her first plum pud (another LO waiting to happen) - which we enjoyed for dessert tonight! She proudly rang to tell him how well it turned out.

This photo-less layout was for a cybercrop challenge at Little Scrapbook Shop last weekend.

An old photo - from my 2006 visit to Vancouver - another CC challenge at LSBS.

The next two are LO's for the LSBS 52 Pickup Challenge - the first of our family photo shoot photo's I've scrapped (so far!).

(photo - Mel @ Point Shoot Play)

This LO was a mixed media one - lots of different bits 'n' pieces included.

Final one --- the first of a few Chrissy LO's to come over the next few weeks I guess...this one the Last Santa Photo from 2007 - the girls just don't seem too keen to have their santa photo taken anymore! This was for a Scrap Chat One Little Word challenge.

That might do it for me this week...
As we head into Christmas week - I'd like to wish all my blog readers a very happy Christmas and a happy and safe New Year. Thanks for dropping by over the past 12 months.

I'm a Princess

Excited to say I came second in the Embellish This competition over at Tan's Scrap n Craft with T - was crowned Princess behind Melinda Spinks who won & was crowned Queen. I shared the Princess crown with Nic Amber. Congrats to Mel, Nic & everyone who had a go at this comp and thanks for a great comp Tan & your amazing DT.

Playing catch up this weekend with the LSBS 52 Pick Up challenges....

A notebook (postit note for male teacher gift)

and a LO with at least 14 different ribbons + staples!

I received my disk on Friday from Mel at Point Shoot Play and LOVE the pics her and Sara took of my family late October. Looking forward to scrapping a few pics, using one for our Christmas card this year + framing some as gifts! Thanks again ladies!
My girls are heading into their last week of school --- only 4 days to go. Eldest DD is excited and a little sad as she's finishing at OC after 10 years and heading off to an exciting new school for her last three years of schooling at the Qld Academy of Creative Industries. There will be tears on Thursday I know but she's very keen to take this next step!

End of another busy weekend

Been a busy weekend with the Guide Garage Sale on Saturday and the usual rushing around the rest of the time.

Did manage 2 LO's...

This one was for LSBS 52 Pick Up challenge #44...

I made it through to the next round in the Scrap n Craft with T "Embellish This" competition ... here's my entry for this week.

Much excitement building as I try and get organised for next weekend which is my bi-annual Scrap Chat retreat. We're off to the Gold Coast this time (instead of Warana) --- getting to meet a few new ladies and of course catch up with all the "old girls"! Can't wait!

November already!!!

How did that happen??? Better start thinking about Christmas at some stage I guess!!

Had a good weekend with some sewing and scrappin'....here's the results!

It's been a Danah LO weekend - all my photo's are of eldest DD...better make sure #2 gets a look in next week!

First up --- LSBS 52 Pick Up challenge #43 ... fabric & a tag

OLW at ScrapChat was "cherish" this weekend. Danah & her GF, Emmie, went to a halloween party last night and I managed to snap a quick pic or two and then did the LO while they were at the party!!

This card embellishment was my entry for last week's Embellish This challenge - using wire and red, green & white!

Whipped this card up for my 'reflexologist' who's been in hospital this week ... get well soon Cass!

I'm celebrating in November the launch of my Made.X.Manda blog - where I'm selling my camera straps (and other hand made goodies)....check it out this month, leave a comment and go into the draw for a prize. Please spread the word!

Exhausting Weekend

This weekend was Scrap Chat's Girls Night In fundraiser crop and what a great event it was!!! Thanks to Gypsy for organising another wonderful event.

I enjoyed having some work friends along. Pam is a regular scrapper but Kath is a "newbie" although she has almost completed a lovely album for her partner. This was her first crop!! Hope you enjoyed it Kath!

I managed to get very little scrapping done! But it was wonderful catching up with the Scrap Chat girls especially Tan & Sarah (& Reiss) who travelled up from northern NSW for the night!

Finished off today the two LO's I did get started yesterday...

The first one is my entry in the Scrap'n'Craft with T Embellish This competition ---

And my OLW for the weekend from Scrap Chat is "support"

Just putting the finishing touches on my LSBS 52 Pick Up challenge so will share it next week!

Two Sundays in a row

Back to my Sunday ritual of updating my blog .... well two weeks in a row is a good start!

Scrapping wise I've done a few LO's this weekend.

The LSBS 52 Pickup Challenge this week was to use a cardboard base and pic from your past...

Gypsy has organised a cybercrop at Scrap Chat this weekend/week to raise funds for women's cancer with the physical crop coming up next Saturday at Cleveland. We hope to raise lots of funds while having a great time.
I've completed the OLW for this weekend "Pink" --- (in my subtitle of this one - going PINK for a great cause) These pics are from our Girls Night In in 2007!

This LO is from a kit challenge - we had to use everything in the kit!

October is...

October is breast cancer awareness month...and every year I've known her, Karen Calcutt (Gypsy), has worked hard to raise funds for breast and other women's cancers during October.

In 2009 Gypsy has a range of fund raisers happening including an online auction, GNI Crop (17/10/09) and a film night (showing New Moon - 21/11/09).

I'm proud to donate my very first padded camera strap (Made.X.Manda) for the online auction happening at the Scrap Chat Auction site (http://www.scrapchat.net.au/auction/) from 1 October for 2 weeks. There will be other goodies for auction too - so be sure to check it out and support this very worth-while cause!

Watch this space for more news on these comfy, unique camera straps in the very near future!

Happy Birthday Mum

My dear Mum turned 70 today...how is that possible? Where has the time gone? My hard work on her album paid off ... she loved it! Hope to photograph the LO's in it soon to share!

We went to Sirromet Winery for brunch to celebrate! Here's the pics from this morning - including Mum wearing our family "birthday" glasses! She loved them so much she borrowed them to wear to her other party later in the day!

I've also managed to do some other scrapbooking this weekend...catching up on the LSBS 52 pick up challenges.

And I did the OLW for Scrap Chat this weekend too ... "classic"

Playing but still not happy

It's spring right? So time to update my poor neglected blog... Still playing around at the moment but watch this space for the new and improved "Not Enough Hours in the Day".

Maybe a facelift will inspire me to actually keep it up to date!

I've been frantic the last four weeks scrappin my Mum's 70th birthday album. Decided at the last moment to make it for her (following Dad's prompting) - and it's all finished in time for our birthday brunch @ Sirromet winery on Sunday (her actual birthday). I hope she likes it!

Haven't scanned or photographed any of it yet...but will do soon.

Looking forward to doing some 'regular' scrappin now that the album is complete! Have a few weeks catch up to do with my weekly challenges at Little Scrapbook Shop and Scrap Chat.

Nitro Voodoo

This is NOT a scrapbooking post....well mostly not!

My brother (and Dad) has been involved in a drag racing Top Bike team called Nitro Voodoo. They have imported an awesome bike from the USA and have been working hard to get it ready to race here in Australia. This machine races down a quarter mile drag strip in 6.22 seconds!!!

They competed in their first race of the season this past weekend at Willowbank - west of Brisbane and we went along to support them. It's been years since we've been out to Willowbank (history...meet DH while he was drag racing in the late 1980's) and I thoroughly enjoyed it!!!

Photo's to share....

Chris - team owner and rider

The whole team (my Dad - team caterer - first on the left) and my brother, Andrew, third from the right.

At the start line...

Finally, one scrapbook item...my Nitro Voodoo LO ;) for Scrap Chat's OLW "First"
