I've had dinner cooked for me

Danah cooked dinner for us tonight - spaghetti bol.. and chocolate pudding! It's great to see her interested in cooking (not so interested in the cleaning up afterwards mind you!!) and it was pretty tasty too! Damn...forgot to take photo's! I'm really off my game lately when it comes to my camera!

I've been in a scrappin' frenzy this weekend. Did a couple of DT LO's + another moneybox for one of Tara's friend's birthday + another LO for a challenge I set on LSBS (the cats one). Very pleased with myself.

We also managed to watch a couple of movies (kid friendly of course) - including "Eight Below" (Antarctic, dog movie) and "Yours, Mine & Ours (old lovers re-unite after partners die + their 18 children).

And I also did a bike ride both days!!! (I've done my back in again while I was at it - you gotta love pain killing drugs don't you??)

That's my weekend!

DT LO

Latest DT LO for LSBS using Over The Moon products. Pic is of my gorgeous big girl, Danah, when she was about 18 months old - helping Peter in the garden.

Big congratulations to Sara (qldscrapper) & Nathan - who are expecting their first bub! Take care of yourself Sara and enjoy this amazing, special time (even though you might be feeling a bit ordinary at the moment - that WILL change!) Oh and don't forget to take lots of pics - starting from now!!

Here's my altered 4 litre paint tin - for Mum's birthday next week - busy filling it with goodies ATM.

What's all the fuss about?

I finally relented today and bought a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts @ Sydney airport on my way home. The girls were so excited when I got home with them but I think we were all a bit disappointed with them. I can't see how they are all that different to the Donut King goodies??!!! Anway - we can say we've tried them now!

I've had the best two days in Sydney! Started with the free red wine on the plane going down (seat mix up that I helped them out with). Got into the hotel (Four Seasons) about 8pm - king room with harbour views - not only did I have harbour views - but views straight out onto the Opera House and the Bridge!! Decided to celebrate with a cold white wine and room service - which was wheeled into me on a table (not a tray) - crisp white linen, gorgeous crockery and cutlery and the food wasn't bad either!!! Hopped into my massive king bed - white crisp white sheets and fluffy soft doona and feather pillows to watch the end of Idol and all of Robbie!!! I thought I'd died and gone to heaven!!!

I had a divine bubble bath - with classical music piped into the bathroom. The toiletaries they provided were divine too (bought the soap home with me!!)

The service, food and staff were all excellent - I never wanted to leave!!! The conference wasn't bad either - great dinner last night - more great food and wine! + a small gift each - a boxed bottle of wine! Did some general "networking" with a range of different people including a Salvo Army officer who I sat with last night @ dinner - he was a gas (although only drinking lemonade!!)

If I hadn't forced myself to go for a quick walk across the road to Circular Quay this morning - I wouldn't have left the hotel from Sunday night until this afternoon when we flew home again. I could definately get used to 5+ star service ALL the TiME!!!

Bad scrappin' mistake though - FoRGot my CAMERA!!! One lady said she went out and bought a disposable - her view was too good not to capture it on film!!!

Back to reality now.... just put a load of washing on...house is a mess..... dishwasher is sort-of packed ... and I need to get myself ready for tomorrow when I go on an Excursion to Chinatown with 80+ Year 6 (11 year olds) students with DD Danah (better pack some paracetamol!!)

Let's Eat Cake

Danah's birthday bash was today and while I'm exhausted now - it all went well.

Slight hiccup this morning when Heidi (cat) was obviously unwell - so Peter and Tara rushed her down to the vet - came back an hour or so later with pain killers and antibotics (& a few $$ poorer)! The vet had to shave a small patch of Heidi and Tara came home with a clipseal bag with fur in it - ready for scrapping apparently!!!! Not sure about that!!!

We had one sleep over Friday night but Danah's other friends started arriving at 8.30am (three of them from North Stradbroke Island so have to rely on ferries etc to get to the mainland). We had the cake (jaffa's decorated by Peter) and then went to the movies after checking out the shops first. We saw "material girls" with Hilary Duff - wouldn't rush out and see it - girls thought it was ok. Shouted them KFC for lunch and then we had to rush two back to catch a ferry, take two home and then the rest of us went to school to watch a basketball game (pre-season NBL between Bullets and Crocs).

We finished the day off with pizza at a local restaurant - a glass of wine for me - now I'm ready for bed!

But no rest for the wicked - trying to get washing done etc and packing for two days in Sydney - leaving Sunday arvo! Looking forward to it actually - staying in the city in a swish hotel- all expenses covered - and I don't have to present at the conference so should be relaxing. Also looking forward to sharing my bed with Robbie tomorrow night!!! I'll be curled up in a big bed watching him on TV - Channel 10 @ 9pm!!!

Did you check out the LSBS cyber crop??? Enjoy chattin but haven't done ANY scrappin!! Did put up two trivia comps which was fun.

She's eleven & into grass already....

A grass costume that is!!! It was Danah's birthday yesterday so she's now eleven! And while she was cauliflower a few weeks ago (for Book Week) tonight she's been grass!!! This is what grass looks like for a junior school drama production. Pretty pleased with my camera (see second pic) as we were right up the back of the theatre. Tara was a star fish but will share pics of her another night.

Danah had a lovely day yesterday - loved her presents from us but was super happy with Nana & Pop's choice of a $50 gift voucher from Supre! Carindale shopping centre here we come! Her godmum from Sydney also sent her a $25 voucher for Myer/KMart/Target - so she's in heaven! We had dinner at Mum & Dad's and the good ol' cheesecake shop came to the rescue for her cake - a winner with us all!

Off to the movies on Saturday morning with 4 of her friends - having (another) cake (home made this time) here at home first.

I've had a hectic week work wise = having been offically on holidays from Police but working as a private consultant with the Fire Service with their female firefighters at their conference. There are only 20 female firefighters in Qld fire service but they are an amazing bunch of women! Always an interesting experience working with them!

Did manage a LO late last weekend which I haven't shared here yet. It's for a challenge - to use time in the title, numbers in the LO, a clock face and a few other bits and pieces. Here's my effort.

Getting all ready for the LSBS cyber crop this Friday night - come along and check it out - if you're up for a challenge or trivia competition (which I'm setting!!)
Dishwasher's working fine - thanks for asking!!! LOL!

Forgot to mention...

Two things....

First off, I'm wanting to wish Alicia, Michael & Kyan (happy birthday today little man) all the very best as the spend their last few days in Brissy before jetting off to NY! Hope you've had a lovely time catching up with everyone before you leave and I've been thinking of you all week. Also thinking of Sara who's going to miss Alicia something fierce! I'm here if you need me :)

Now, the other thing I meant to mention last night is that the LSBS is searching for new Design Team members - a scrapper and a stamper! So check it out and throw your hat in the ring if you're interested!

Now - I have been scrappin' - little bits 'n' pieces including a mini box swap @ LSBS. Made this little cutie for Helen up north. I've also just finished off some ATC's for a Scrapbook City swap but won't show it yet - incase anyone else is doing this swap and then I'd be ruining the surprise! I'm also just finishing off a quote paperbag album page for a Scrapbooking Memories Online forum swap. I'm dedicating my page to Steve Irwin by using this quote which I think sums the man up based on the response to his untimely death this week....

"What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal" Albert Pine

Over 1000

How cool!! I've had over 1000 visitors to my blog!!!

Thanks for coming back time and again to offer me advice (especially all those who offerred dishwasher advice!!)

If you're looking for a bargain or want to sign up for some scrappin' fun - check out the Little Scrapbook Shop (LSBS) - the have a sale on atm and a cyber crop coming up on 15 September! If I can entice a "friend" along we could even be in the draw for a prize!!!! They also have a fabulous Design Team!!! LOL!!

I had a great night last night with my long time girlfriend, Sandy (we met at boarding school when we were 13!!!) . She rang last week and asked if I could show her how to alter a tin (for gifts) so I hit the local paint shop for new tins and we attacked them last night. She whipped up a 2 litre tin for her daughter (a major Brisbane Bronco's fan) and I did a 4 litre one for Mum's birthday. Will share after I add a few last minute touches to it!

Anyway - off to do the washing up!!!!

Two weeks

Can you believe it??!! I'm likely to be up to two weeks without my DISHWASHER thanks to some stinkin' rodent who saw fit to chew through my pipes!!! (+ a small broken piece inside the machine)!! Mr Dishwasher man tells me it's quite common for this to happen. Some poor lady's machine had been that badly "attacked" by rodents that her two year old machine needed that much work that it was cheaper to buy a new one!!! At least I don't have to do that!

No wonder both the cats would come inside each morning and just sit and stare at the dishwasher - one either side - for ages and ages. We should've taken that as a sign!!!

Well - I know you were all coming back to see how my dishwasher was - so now you know and you can feel my pain - for two weeks!!!

Just a quickie

Very quick post to upload the one and only LO I'll get done this weekend (DT one for LSBS). Off to the Gold Coast - mightn't do any scrappin' but planning on taking lots of pics!

Brisbane has enjoyed some lovely rain this week (my friend Pam's very happy as she's just had a rain tank installed!!). Hopefully it'll ease up for the weekend so we can enjoy the beach.

Have had a major disaster at our place - 11pm last night - the worst possible electrically applicance malfunction (well maybe not the worst!!).....water all over the floor from the DISHWASHER!!! Chap is coming to look at it Monday morning...at least we're away for the weekend. Don't think I could survive without it for too long. Hopefully it's not terminal!!!
