Four Days...

The girls are on school holidays again....but unfortunately I've got to go to work for four days this week before having 6 off with them.

We're planning a trip up to visit Peter's Mum, in Central Queensland, next weekend (over 4 days)...so looking forward to catching up with her, another friend in Rocky and one of Tara's ex-school friends who now lives up that way....at Yeppoon! We lashed out and bought the girls an in-car DVD player for the long drive! Peter will be fighting to get in the back seat too now ;)

Plans are going well for the GIRLS NIGHT IN fund raiser crop.....please help spread the word that it's on (through any forums you're involved with and on your blogs??)....really need to get people coming along for a fun night to raise some funds! I've approached the local paper so hopefully they'll help spread the word!

I managed to get three paperbag album entries done this weekend.....my only scrap sharing this weekend.

The Hobbit

The Junior school drama production was Friday and both Moran girls did a fabulous job!

Tara, as Sergeant Bob (a hobbit), and Danah as Gandalf. My photography skills however were NOT fabulous! Hopefully someone else at school will have some decent photos. These are the best of a very bad bunch :(

I was pleasantly surprised to receive a lovely bunch of flowers at the end for my assistance with the costumes.

They get to perform the production one more time, on Tuesday, for the Junior School.

Scrap wise - it's been the LSBS CC this weekend. Had fun with the digi challenge - a magazine cover and did a sketch challenge for my DT Challenge this time.

I took the girls to Garden City today shopping - Danah was dying to spend her gift vouchers (one for Westfield and one for Borders). Mum came along too and one of Danah's friends, Emmie. I ended up buying Tara a few new things for summer and for school camp this week - so she was pretty lucky too. Danah really enjoyed herself and bought some lovely goodies - including some fluro things!!! (oh my goodness - why is fluro back in???)

No More Sewing please

Okay - that's it....the sewing machine had been packed away!!!

Finished sewing Danah's Gandalf cloak first thing Saturday morning - in time for her Saturday afternoon rehersal! BUT.....received material to make another FOUR elves outfits by Monday!!! So....I've been sewing all day today and have just finished them. Luckily they were all cut out and pretty straight forward to put together! Think my machine will be happy to going back to the occasional 12x12 border from now on!

I snuck in a quick LO Saturday afternoon - after 2 weeks with NO scrapping!!! Here's my effort - of TAra testing the swimming pool last weekend....all on her own!

Busy week - with a quick trip to Toowoomba for work Monday/Tuesday - Danah's 12th birthday on Wednesday and then the Hobbit production on Friday night....

Speaking of Friday night ---- don't forget to check out the cyber crop at Little Scrapbook Shop on Friday (I'll miss most of the fun early in the night due to the Hobbit!)

Crop for Kids

Please take a minute to check out this blog - funding raising for Melbourne's Royal Childrens Hospital.

Bookmark it and check back regularly!

Welcome Ethan Blake

My girlfriend from work, Pam, has had her first bub - last Thursday! Welcome Ethan Blake and congrats Pam and Mark! Some of my scrap friends have met Pam, as she has been to a couple of crops with me.

We were lucky enough to visit Pam in hospital on Saturday afternoon - he's so beautiful!

After visiting we hung around the hospital car park for a few hours....to watch the fireworks :D Riverfire is an annual festival here in Brisbane with the fireworks being a high light. Our plan was to visit Pam and then walk towards the river (not far from the hospital) but the top two sections of the car park where closed to traffic and there was a party going on up there!!! So we joined in! The hospital must make it one of their main fund raisers and it was a great night!

Hard work getting good fireworks photos but this is one of the better ones I captured.

I've done NO scrapbooking for a week : Having been away with work last week and a flat out weekend I haven't had a chance! Not likely to get any done this week either as I have a wizards cloak to make for Danah's costume for her Hobbit performance in less than 2 weeks~~!~ My poor sewing machine won't know what's going on with material being used on it instead of PAPER!

We enjoyed a lovely Father's Day BBQ Brunch this morning with my folks and my brother. It was a lovely way to start the day! Tried to get some nice photos of Peter with the girls - but ended up with more goofy out-takes than nice ones ;) The one above isn't too bad! And here's my cool Dad!

Talking about cool.....Tara decided it was time to get back into the pool today, so after brunch she took the plunge! And yes, it was cold, freezing even, but she stayed in for quite a while!
